Weak Anion Mixed-Mode Solid Phase Extraction (SPE)

A weak anion-exchange functionalized polymeric sorbent that allows for complete retention of acidic compounds with a pKa less than 5, making 100% organic wash conditions possible. A 100% organic wash ensures that the maximum amount of interferences are removed from the target compound.

  • Recommended Use: Extraction of acidic compounds, particularly strong acids

Starting Method

For Acids with pKa ≤ 5
  • Column: 1 mL Methanol
  • Equilibrate: 1 mL Water, pH 6-7
  • Load: Diluted Sample pH 6-7
  • Wash 1: 1 mL 25 mM Ammonium Acetate Buffered, pH 6-7
  • Wash 2: 1 mL Methanol
  • Elute Any Acid: 2x 500 µL 5 % NH4OH in Methanol
  • Elute Weak Acids: 2x 500 µL 5 % Formic Acid in Methanol
