TB4/TB-500/TB4(17-23) analysisTargeted HPLC analysis of TB4, TB-500, and TB4(17-23), distinguishing full-length TB4 from fragments and determining amount and peptide purity.
Features

TB4/TB-500/TB4(17-23) analysis

The TB4/TB-500/TB4(17-23) Analysis is a targeted laboratory test designed to identify and quantify TB4, TB-500, and the TB4(17-23) fragment and to assess peptide purity in lyophilised vials and raw active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) powders.

The analysis determines whether the sample contains the complete 43-amino-acid TB4 peptide or only a fragment. It can also specifically identify the TB4(17-23) fragment. Results for lyophilised samples are reported in milligrams per vial together with peptide purity.

About TB4, TB-500 and TB4(17-23)

Thymosin beta-4 (TB4) is a naturally occurring 43-amino-acid peptide involved in actin regulation, cell migration, and processes associated with tissue repair. TB-500 refers to synthetic forms related to TB4, while TB4(17-23) is a short fragment with the sequence LKKTETQ, studied mainly in relation to cell migration, angiogenesis, and wound healing.

Important Notice

  • The analysis determines whether the complete 43-amino-acid TB4 peptide or only a fragment is present and then determines its amount and peptide purity.
  • Results are distinguished in the laboratory report as follows:
    • TB-500 (TB-4): the entire peptide was identified.
    • TB-500: only a fragment was identified; the report comment specifies which fragment was detected.
    • TB-500 889 (Da): the 17-23 fragment was identified.
  • This analysis does not automatically screen the sample for other peptides, degradation products, contaminants, or undeclared substances.
  • For lyophilised samples, one whole unopened vial containing lyophilisate is required.
  • Raw API powder should be supplied as at least 30 mg in a sealed glass vial to protect the sample from moisture.
