The Blind Common Anabolic Steroid Screening – ID Only is a laboratory analysis designed to identify commonly encountered anabolic-androgenic steroids and selected aromatase inhibitors in an unknown sample. The test is suitable for oil-based samples, oral dosage forms such as tablets and capsules, and raw active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) powders.
Because this is a blind analysis, there is no need to specify which substance is expected in the sample. The analysis screens for all target compounds listed below and reports the identity of the detected compound.
About the Target Compounds
Anabolic-androgenic steroids are synthetic derivatives of testosterone or structurally related steroid hormones. They interact with androgen receptors and produce both anabolic effects, associated with tissue and muscle growth, and androgenic effects.
The analysis covers testosterone, trenbolone, nandrolone, drostanolone, methenolone, boldenone, and other commonly encountered anabolic steroids. It includes both non-esterified steroid bases and esterified forms, which differ in properties such as solubility and release rate after administration.
The screening also includes letrozole, anastrozole, and exemestane. These compounds are aromatase inhibitors that reduce estrogen production by inhibiting the aromatase enzyme. Letrozole and anastrozole are non-steroidal inhibitors, whereas exemestane is a steroidal aromatase inhibitor.
