Thermo Fisher Scientific: Smarter enrichment media preparation for food microbiology labs
Thermo Fisher Scientific: Smarter enrichment media preparation for food microbiology labs

Media preparation remains a significant operational challenge in food microbiology laboratories. Traditional workflows can be time-consuming, labor-intensive and difficult to scale, placing pressure on laboratory productivity, consistency and resources.

In this SelectScience® webinar, experts from Oxoid Remel Microbiology (Acquired from Thermo Fisher Scientific) will explore how laboratories can rethink enrichment media preparation and introduce a new solution to the bottleneck commonly associated with this step - the InstaFlux™ workflow, a media-on-demand approach designed to simplify media preparation and support more productive, traceable food microbiology workflows.

Jaakko McVey, Senior Manager, Product Management, will examine the operational challenges associated with conventional media preparation and why this part of the laboratory workflow has remained difficult to optimize. He will discuss how new approaches, including concentrated media and automation, can help laboratories respond more effectively to changing sample volumes while reducing the burden associated with routine media preparation.

Irene Rapti, Global Product Manager, will bring a practical laboratory perspective shaped by five years of experience managing food microbiology laboratories. She will explore how challenges around productivity, traceability, staffing and operational efficiency can be addressed in practice, and demonstrate how the InstaFlux workflow brings media-on-demand into routine sample preparation.

Attendees will gain practical insight into how InstaFlux can help reduce manual media preparation, improve workflow consistency, support traceability and allow skilled laboratory staff to spend more time focused on sample testing rather than media preparation.
