Viscometers Don't Need 600 mL Beakers - Measure Down to 1 cP with 0.5 mL

Many laboratories still associate rotational viscometry with large beakers, large sample volumes, and medium-to-high-viscosity materials. But modern cone-plate viscometry changes this picture.
In this webinar, we show how low-volume and low-viscosity measurements can be performed with an affordable and easy to use rotational viscometer setup. Using ViscoQC together with the PTD 100 Cone-Plate accessory, laboratories can measure samples from 0.5 mL to 2 mL, control temperature with an integrated Peltier system from 0°C to 100 °C and perform absolute viscosity measurements without the complexity of a research rheometer.
The webinar is especially relevant for pharmaceutical, biotech and specialty chemical laboratories working with scarce, expensive, temperature-sensitive or low-viscosity samples. It also benefits users seeking to reduce cleaning effort and shorten measurement turnaround times through low-volume testing, which enables rapid sample temperature equilibration.
Key takeaways:
- Challenge the beaker mindset: Understand the limitations of conventional beaker-and-spindle viscometry.
- Discover the benefits of cone-plate viscometry: Learn when and why to switch to a cone-plate setup.
- Apply measurement best practices: Master sample handling, spindle and speed selection, and appropriate measurement methods.
