LNP composition analysis with GTxResolve RP columns and CAD! Enhance lipid profiling and purity testing using ACQUITY and Empower.
Select Science: Seeing LNP composition in a new light with charged aerosol detection
Select Science: Seeing LNP composition in a new light with charged aerosol detection

Lipid nanoparticle (LNP) therapeutics depend on the precise combination of ionizable lipids, phospholipids, cholesterol, and PEG-lipids to achieve the desired performance. Analyzing these complex formulations can be challenging, requiring analytical methods that deliver both selective separation and reliable quantification across a broad range of lipid chemistries and concentrations.

In this SelectScience® webinar, Adam Kowalczyk, Research Scientist II – Analytical at Acuitas Therapeutics, and Dr. Mateusz Imiolek, Principal Scientist at Waters Corporation, will explore practical approaches for the compositional analysis of LNPs. Drawing on expertise in analytical method development, impurity profiling, chromatography, and gene therapeutic characterization, they will discuss how robust analytical workflows can help support the development and characterisation of LNP-based therapeutics.

Plus, discover how GTxResolve™ RP 230 Å columns, charged aerosol detection (CAD), and an integrated ACQUITY™ workflow can support fast, selective, and reproducible analysis of lipid nanoparticle (LNP) lipid components. Through practical examples, the speakers will demonstrate how optimized chromatography and detection strategies can improve assay robustness, support LNP composition analysis and impurity profiling, and provide the analytical confidence needed to accelerate innovation in lipid nanoparticle development.

Speaker: Mateusz Imiolek, PhD (Principal Scientist, Waters Corporation)

Dr. Mateusz Imiolek joined Waters in 2022 where he has been studying challenges associated with characterizing gene therapeutics and ensuring that new Waters products are fit for this purpose. Before that, he completed his academic training in bioorganic chemistry, which allows him to apply detailed molecular insights to ensure the newly developed columns and assays are carefully designed for such analytes.

Speaker: Adam Kowalczyk (Research Scientist II – Analytical, Acuitas Therapeutics)

Adam Kowalczyk is a Research Scientist II at Acuitas Therapeutics, where he specializes in analytical method development for lipid nanoparticle (LNP)‑based therapeutics. His work focuses on characterizing complex lipid systems, optimizing impurity profiling strategies, and supporting process development through robust analytical data.

With a strong background in chemistry and hands‑on experience in advanced LC and detection technologies, he brings deep technical insight into the challenges and requirements of modern LNP analysis.
