As labs continue to prioritize sustainability, efficiency, and cost-effective workflows, microbore ion chromatography (IC) columns offer a compelling alternative to traditional standard-bore formats. Join this educational webinar with Dr. Joachim Weiss to learn how reducing column diameter lowers eluent consumption, decreases hazardous waste, extends consumable lifetime, and reduces operating costs, all while maintaining high analytical performance.

This webinar will explore the principles behind microbore column technology, practical considerations for implementation, and real-world application examples. Whether you're evaluating a transition to microbore IC or looking to improve the efficiency of your current microbore methods, this webinar will provide valuable guidance for greener, more economical ion chromatography.

Topics that will be covered include:
  • Benefits of microbore columns for greener ion chromatography
  • Optimizing system performance for microbore workflows
  • Considerations for transitioning from standard bore to microbore columns
  • Application examples for environmental, industrial, and IC-MS analysis

Presenter: Joachim Weiss, Ph.D (Consultant, Institute of Analytical Chemistry and Radiochemistry Leopold-Franzens University, Innsbruck, Austria)

Dr. Joachim Weiss is recognized as an international expert in analytical chemistry, especially in the field of ion chromatography. With over 40 years of experience, he has served as a visiting professor at the Leopold-Franzens University and is currently retired from the position of Technical Director for Dionex products at Thermo Fisher Scientific. In 2015, he was awarded the Maria Sklodowska Curie Medal of the Polish Chemical Society for his achievements in separation science.

Moderator: Wai-Chi Man (Product Marketing Manager, Thermo Fisher Scientific)
