Bruker: Failure and Damage Analysis in Polymer Industries

To thoroughly examine polymer and plastic products for their quality, or to investigate the cause of failure in the event of damage, it is necessary to combine various analytical techniques.

Using three examples from his daily work at the Luedenscheid Institute of Plastics, Martin Doedt will highlight typical problems in the processing, use and production of plastic products and how macroscopic and microscopic FTIR spectroscopy can help solve them.

Presenter:  Martin Doedt

Martin Doedt is divisional director for analysis technology at the Luedenscheid Institute of Plastics (Kunststoff Institut Lüdenscheid) and will talk in detail about the methodical approach to failure analysis, starting with the description of the material defect up to the recommendation to the customer to avoid disturbances in production and processing in the future.
