Episode #1: Chromatography - UPLC | F&E Summer School - Day 1 - Module 1

This section will provide an overview of the Waters reference material available to customer to help plan the best columns and chromatographic conditions for their LC-MS methods, using common environmental contaminants as an example. We highlight how to create LC-MS methods using the Acquisition Method Editor (AME) application within waters_connect™. Finally, this section will cover some of the most troubleshooting issues: contaminated blank peaks, poor peak shape, etc, and how to address them.

What you'll learn:
  • Important factors for developing a UPLC method - considering analyte solubility, pKa and partitioning coefficient (Kow)
  • Selecting the most appropriate UPLC column for your analytes
  • Setting up LC-MS methods in the waters_connectTM console
  • Troubleshooting common contamination issues
