This e-seminar focuses on the application of nominal and high resolution time-of-flight mass spectrometry coupled to gas chromatography and thermal inlet systems for the comprehensive quantitative and/or qualitative analysis of petroleum derived matrices, from middle distillates to vacuum residues.

Highlights include:

  • Adoption of GCxGC towards high temperature and phase considerations
  • Determination of boiling point distribution by high temp GCxGC
  • Classification according to compound class
  • Derivation of absolute quantitative information

Presenter: Thomas Groeger (Joint Mass Spectrometry Centre, Univ of Rostock and Helmholtz Zentrum Muenchen)
