Samplify™ is a versatile device designed for unattended sampling of reaction mixtures or bioprocesses, as well as for continuous inline flow. It allows the withdrawal of small liquid samples from monitored mixtures and collects them in vials or 96-well plates. The system can also dilute the sample with a specified dilution ratio and provide reaction quenching to preserve the sample state at the time of collection. It comprises two main components: an autosampler and a probe. Samplify™ is controlled and configured using PC software.
Description
Periodic sampling of reactors or fermenters is a common laboratory task for obtaining data on reaction kinetics, process completion, and intermediate states of dynamic processes. Typically, this task is performed manually with pipettes or syringes, requiring the use of a stopwatch and constant presence in the lab throughout the process.
Samplify™ automates this process, enhancing accuracy, safety, and productivity. Automated sampling reduces the risk of cross-contamination and minimizes exposure of the reaction mixture to oxygen or moisture-critical for anaerobic or moisture-sensitive conditions.
- With its proprietary alpha/beta mechanical configuration, the Alltesta Miniature Autosampler and its patent-pending sampling probe deliver affordable and reliable automation for a variety of analytical and liquid-handling applications.
- A small, controllable sample volume can be programmed and precisely removed from enclosed or open systems. The sample is then transferred to a vial containing an inert solvent of measured volume, ensuring a controllable dilution factor.
- Quenching solutions can be automatically preloaded into each vial to terminate reactions or biological processes and preserve the sample content at the time of collection.
- To ensure thorough mixing of samples with diluents or quenching reagents, the autosampler tray’s shaking function can be activated after each sampling cycle.
- The PC-based software allows for quick yet flexible setup of sampling experiments. Several preloaded methods can be easily adapted to the user’s specific requirements.
- For temperature-sensitive samples, the entire autosampler can be placed in a temperature-controlled environment.
- The compact size of the device enables placement close to the reactor, minimizing dispersion with short connection lines. A small cooler can also be used to maintain samples at low temperatures after collection.
