Agilent G4590-67001 is an original complete GC/MS transferline assembly designed to connect the Agilent Intuvo 9000 GC to a mass spectrometer. The transferline forms the interface between the GC and MS and provides controlled transfer of column effluent from the chromatographic flow path into the mass spectrometer.
GC/MS Transferline Function
The transferline connects the chromatographic flow path of the Intuvo 9000 with the vacuum and ionization section of the mass spectrometer.
Its functions include:
- transferring GC column effluent into the MS,
- maintaining suitable thermal conditions during analyte transfer,
- minimizing condensation of less volatile compounds,
- minimizing analyte losses between GC and MS,
- providing the mechanical and thermal interface between the two instruments.
Intuvo 9000 GC/MS Interface
The Agilent Intuvo 9000 uses a modular heated chromatographic flow path.
In a GC/MS configuration, the interface includes components such as:
- GC/MS transferline,
- MS tail,
- MS Tail Heater Assembly,
- associated insulation and connection components,
- the GC/MS interface of the mass spectrometer.
