Features

The Agilent 7900 ICP-MS, G8403A, is a high-performance single-quadrupole ICP-MS system for sensitive multi-element analysis at trace and ultra-trace levels. The offered configuration includes the 7900 ICP-MS mainframe, Agilent G3292A cooling unit, ASX-500 autosampler, Agilent MS40-S rotary-vane vacuum pump, and software for system control, acquisition, and data processing.

Offered System Configuration

  • Agilent 7900 ICP-MS – G8403A
  • Agilent G3292A Cooling Unit
  • ASX-500 Autosampler
  • Agilent MS40-S rotary vane foreline pump
  • Software for ICP-MS control and data processing

Ultra High Matrix Introduction

UHMI enables routine analysis of samples containing up to approximately 25% total dissolved solids, substantially extending the matrix tolerance compared with conventional ICP-MS workflows.

ORS4 Collision/Reaction Cell

The fourth-generation ORS4 provides effective removal of polyatomic interferences using helium collision mode with kinetic-energy discrimination.

Cell-gas switching is completed in less than 3 seconds.

Orthogonal Detector System

  • Up to 11 orders of dynamic range
  • Approximate range 0.1 cps–10 Gcps
  • Supports sub-ppt through percent-level concentrations
  • Helps minimize over-range measurements.

Agilent G3292A Cooling Unit

The Agilent G3292A is an external recirculating chiller specified for Agilent 7800/7900 ICP-MS systems.

It provides cooling for temperature-sensitive ICP-MS components including the spray-chamber Peltier cooler, interface region, RF system, and work coil.

G3292A Specifications
  • Compatibility: Agilent 7800 / 7900 ICP-MS
  • Heat absorption: approx. 1,600 W, up to around 2,000 W
  • Maximum power consumption: approx. 2,900 W
  • Power:
    • 208–230 VAC / 60 Hz
    • 240 VAC / 50 Hz
  • Current: approx. 12.2 A
  • Dimensions (H × W × D): approx. 57.6 × 36.8 × 70.2 cm
  • Weight: approx. 85 kg.

ASX-500 Autosampler

The ASX-500 provides automated sample introduction for ICP-MS sequences and is compatible with Agilent ICP-MS systems.

Typical features include:

  • automated X/Y/Z probe movement,
  • integrated rinse station,
  • flexible sample rack configurations,
  • automated unattended sequences,
  • RS-232 / USB communication depending on configuration.

Agilent MS40-S Vacuum Pump

The Agilent MS40-S is an oil-sealed single-stage rotary vane pump used as the foreline/roughing pump for the ICP-MS vacuum system.

It supplies backing vacuum for the turbomolecular system and incorporates an anti-suckback mechanism that isolates the vacuum system when the pump stops.

MS40-S Specifications
  • Type: Oil-sealed single-stage rotary vane pump
  • Application: ICP-MS foreline / roughing vacuum
  • Input Voltage: 200–240 V, 50/60 Hz
  • Rotational Speed: 1200 rpm at 50 Hz
  • Ultimate Partial Pressure: ≤0.05 mbar
  • Exhaust Connection: NW25
  • Oil Capacity: approx. 1 L
  • Oil Type: AVF Platinum
  • Noise Level: ≤62 dBA
  • Dimensions (W × H × D): approx. 298 × 266 × 419 mm
