The Markes Micro-Chamber/Thermal Extractor M-CTE250 is a compact four-chamber system designed for rapid screening of volatile and semi-volatile organic compound (VOC and SVOC) emissions released from products and materials. Each 114 mL chamber supports sampling from ambient temperature up to 250 °C. Released compounds are swept from the chambers by a controlled flow of clean air or gas and collected onto sorbent tubes for subsequent TD–GC–MS analysis.

The system enables simultaneous testing of up to four samples and can be used to assess both surface and bulk emissions. Typical applications include construction materials, automotive trim, consumer products, and profiling of volatile compounds released from food and fragranced products. Formaldehyde can also be collected using DNPH cartridges.
