Markes UNITY-xr is a single-tube thermal desorption unit designed for the analysis of volatile and semi-volatile organic compounds (VOCs and SVOCs) collected on sorbent tubes. The system thermally desorbs analytes from the sample tube, concentrates them on an electrically cooled focusing trap, and subsequently transfers them to a GC or GC-MS system for analysis.
UNITY-xr operates without liquid cryogens and supports compounds across a broad volatility range, from C₂ to n-C₄₄, including reactive and thermally labile species. Quantitative sample re-collection enables part of the sample to be retained for repeat analysis, while the modular design allows the system to be expanded with automation for multiple tubes, canisters, or online air and gas monitoring.
