Features

The Waters ACQUITY UPLC 30 cm Column Heater/Cooler (30-cm CHC) is a dedicated column temperature-control module for ACQUITY UPLC systems. It provides both active heating and cooling and is designed to accommodate LC columns up to 300 mm in length and 7.8 mm internal diameter. Using a thermoelectric heating/cooling engine with forced-air convection, the module maintains stable column temperatures from as much as 15 °C below ambient up to 65 °C, supporting reproducible chromatographic separations in temperature-sensitive methods.

Key Features

  • Active heating and cooling of LC columns
  • Temperature setpoint range of 4.0 to 65.0 °C
  • Setpoint resolution of 0.1 °C
  • Controllable range from up to 15 °C below ambient to 65 °C
  • Supports columns up to 300 mm long and 7.8 mm ID
  • Accommodates up to 6 serially connected columns
  • Internal thermistor for temperature feedback
  • Thermoelectric heating/cooling with forced-air convection
  • Integrates with ACQUITY UPLC H-Class, H-Class Bio, and I-Class systems
  • Can serve as an alternate or auxiliary column compartment depending on system configuration
  • Controlled through the system console or chromatography method
  • Compatible with workflows using Empower, MassLynx, and UNIFI software

Compatibility

As an alternate 30 cm column heating/cooling module:
  • ACQUITY UPLC H-Class Series with CH-A
  • ACQUITY UPLC H-Class Bio Series with CH-A
  • ACQUITY UPLC I-Class Series with CH-A
As an auxiliary 30 cm column heating/cooling module:
  • ACQUITY UPLC H-Class Series with CM-A
  • ACQUITY UPLC H-Class Bio Series with CM-A

When connected to a CM-A, the 30-cm CHC can be plumbed directly to the Column Manager switching valves and used as an additional heated/cooled column zone. Operation is subject to the configuration restrictions described by Waters.
