Senior Analytical Chemist

Job Description

Eurofins Athens Analysis Laboratories, a trusted leader in independent laboratory testing across multiple sectors — including food, water, cosmetics, environmental, pharmaceutical, and dietary supplements — is seeking a Senior Analytical Chemist to join our Chemical Laboratory at our facilities in Metamorfosi, Attiki. The role focuses primarily on pesticide residue analysis in food matrices and includes advanced analytical responsibilities, method optimization, and technical support of the laboratory team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct pesticide residue analysis using LC-MS/MS and GC-MS/MS.
  • Interpret analytical data, ensure accuracy, and validate results according to regulatory requirements.
  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation.
  • Lead or contribute to method development, validation, and optimization.
  • Support junior analysts through technical guidance and knowledge sharing.
  • Ensure compliance with the laboratory’s Quality Management System (ISO 17025:2017).
  • Collaborate with other teams to ensure timely reporting and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry.
  • A Master’s Degree will be considered an asset.
  • 3–5 years of proven experience in analytical laboratory work, with strong emphasis on pesticide analysis in food.
  • Strong knowledge of gas and liquid chromatography coupled with mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS, GC-MS/MS).
  • Very good command of the English language.
  • Very good knowledge of MS Office applications.
  • Strong analytical thinking, organizational skills, and teamwork mentality.
  • Completed military service for male candidates.
