Protein analysis in forensic toxicology: Method development, evaluation and application of a low-flow LC-MS/MS-based untargeted bottom-up proteomics workflow

Although proteomics is widely used for biomarker discovery in clinical research, its adoption in forensic applications has been limited by the need for specialized nano-flow LC systems. To address this, an untargeted low-flow bottom-up proteomics workflow using a conventional analytical-flow LC coupled to a SCIEX ZenoTOF 7600 system was developed, demonstrating its applicability to forensic matrices including whole blood, plasma, and urine.

Leveraging HRMS for emerging substance screening and quantitation

This presentation will demonstrate how the X500R QTOF system can be used to rapidly identify and quantify novel psychoactive substances (NPS) alongside traditional drugs, leveraging accurate mass, isotopic pattern, and high-resolution MS/MS library matching. It also compares broad-spectrum TOF-MS screening with targeted MRM-HR quantitation workflows to help laboratories balance sensitivity, selectivity, and method development effort.

At the speed of quality: Application of a novel mass spectrometer to highly multiplexed urine drug analysis

This presentation will highlight how the novus V55 system enhances performance in highly multiplexed urine drug testing, using a ~200-analyte LC-MS/MS panel transferred from a SCIEX 5500 system. Results will demonstrate how faster MRM acquisition and signal summing improve data sampling, precision, and automated peak integration while maintaining qualitative agreement across samples.
