4th Annual Virtual Phenomenex Biosymposium

16 - 16. September 2026
Join Phenomenex’s 4th Annual Virtual Biosymposium to explore LC-MS workflows for sgRNA impurity analysis, AOC characterization, and multiplex bioanalysis with experts from industry and research.
4th Annual Virtual Phenomenex Biosymposium

Phenomenex is excited to announce our 4th Annual Virtual Biosymposium!  Modern approaches to identify sgRNA impurities, characterize AOCs, and discuss multiplex bioanalytical quantitation will be presented.  Experts from Quality Assistance, KCAS Bio, Sciex, and Phenomenex will lead the discussion.

Objectives

  • Learn how to characterize modern, complex biotherapeutic modalities.
  • Explore multiplex approaches to increase bioanalysis efficiencies.
  • Uncover key considerations when identifying nucleic acid impurities.

Who Should Attend

Scientists developing liquid chromatography (LC) methods for characterizing and performing bioanalysis of biotherapeutics such as antibody oligo conjugates (AOCs) and oligonucleotides.

Agenda

Magnetic Bead-Enabled Hybrid LC-MS Workflows: Advancing Bioanalysis at a Leading Contract Research Organization (CRO)
  • Dr. Rathna Veeramachaneni, Ph.D, Director, Mass Spec Bioanalysis – Development at KCAS Bio
    • Head of the Mass Spectrometry Bioanalysis Development Group within Bioanalytical and Biomarker Services at KCAS Bio. With experience spanning both in pharmaceutical and CRO environments, she has developed quantitative bioanalytical strategies for a wide range of therapeutics and biomarkers, including oligonucleotides, monoclonal antibodies, ADCs, fusion proteins, and small- and large-molecule biomarkers. Rathna earned her Ph.D. from Duquesne University, where her research focused on proteomic mass spectrometry and membrane ion channel structure. Her expertise encompasses hybrid and conventional LC-MS/MS workflows, supporting drug development programs across oncology, inflammation, neurodegenerative disorders, and rare diseases. She is passionate about advancing bioanalytical science through innovative mass spectrometry technologies, automation, and fit-for-purpose analytical strategies.
Ion-Pair Reversed-Phase LC Method Development for sgRNA Impurity Analysis
  • Lara Nercessian, M.S., R&D Analytical Scientist at Quality Assistance
    • R&D Analytical Scientist at Quality Assistance, where she has spent the past three years developing and optimizing chromatographic methods for nucleic acid based therapeutics such as sgRNA, oligonucleotides and mRNA. She holds an Engineering Degree in Chemistry from ECPM Strasbourg (France) and a Master’s degree in Experimental Techniques in Chemistry from Valencia (Spain). Her expertise includes liquid phase chromatography, AQbD driven method development and impurity profiling, and she is the author of a publication on the robustness evaluation of a WAX method for oligonucleotides
Characterization of an Antibody Oligonucleotide Conjugate (AOC) via Size Exclusion Mass Spectrometry and Peptide Mapping
  • Roxana Eggleston-Rangel, M.S., Senior Application Scientist at Phenomenex
    • Joined Phenomenex in 2018 as an Applications Scientist and is currently working with the applications team to produce analytical solutions for the biopharma industry. Her current work focuses on characterization of mRNA, sgRNA, and siRNA. Prior to Phenomenex, Roxana worked for Caltech and the University of Southern California developing LM-CS workflows for the proteomics community. She received her bachelor’s and master’s degree in Chemistry and Biochemistry from California State University, Los Angeles.
  • Dr. Haichuan Liu, Ph.D, Staff Scientist, Technical Marketing Biopharma at SCIEX
    • Joined SCIEX in 2021 and is currently a Staff Scientist in the Technical Marketing team. Haichuan specializes in comprehensive characterization of protein and oligonucleotide-based therapeutics using orthogonal LC-MS workflows and alternative fragmentation techniques. He is an author of nearly 60 peer-reviewed articles. He has also published numerous biopharma application notes and presented his scientific work at many conferences.
