Increase Purification Throughput With Automated Sample Loading

Learn how automated sample loading can help increase purification throughput and make more efficient use of existing chromatography systems. This webinar explores practical approaches for reducing manual sample handling, supporting unattended operation, and processing larger sample sets with less effort.
You'll learn about common applications and considerations for implementing autosamplers in purification workflows. A scientist from Gilead Sciences will share real-world experience using the ALIAS autosampler with ÄKTA systems, including applications such as size exclusion chromatography (SEC), ion exchange chromatography (IEX), secondary affinity chromatography, and desalting.
The session concludes with a live Q&A featuring experts from Cytiva and Gilead.
Attend this webinar to:
- Learn how to increase purification throughput through automated sample loading and unattended operation
- Explore how to make better use of existing purification systems when processing larger sample sets
- Gain real-world insight from Gilead Sciences into how automated sample loading can be applied across a range of purification workflows
Presenter: Akemi Kunibe, PhD (Product Sales Specialist, Cytiva)
Akemi Kunibe has been at Cytiva for nearly three years supporting customers in chromatography, first as an ÄKTA™ field application scientist and currently as a resin specialist. Her experience working with ÄKTA and chromatography began over 15 years ago in her PhD studying endocytosis at University of California, Berkeley. She continued her career as a scientist (and Cytiva customer) in early-stage materials and food-tech start-ups where she developed protein purification strategies, designed high-throughput screening platforms, and characterized proteins. In her current role, Akemi serves as a technical specialist, aiding customers in resin selection. Her goal is to help customers improve productivity, increase throughput, and have fun as they develop their chromatography workflows.
Presenter: Ethan Yu (Senior Research Associate, Gilead Sciences)
Ethan Yu is a senior research associate in the protein therapeutics group at Gilead Sciences. He specializes in the development and optimization of purification strategies for multispecific antibodies, Fc-fusion proteins, antibody fragments, and other complex proteins. Ethan has a BS in chemical engineering from the University of California, Berkeley. Prior to joining Gilead, he gained research experience at Arcus Biosciences and the Andreas Martin Lab at Howard Hughes Medical Institute.
