Hierarchical porous materials contain complex pore networks that cannot always be fully described by surface area and pore size distribution alone. This webinar explores physisorption hysteresis and Differential Hysteresis Scanning (DHS) as tools for gaining deeper insight into pore connectivity and hierarchical porosity using the 3Flex. Using ordered mesoporous carbon as a case study, complementary SAXS measurements with Empyrean will provide additional structural insight into the pore architecture.

Who should attend?
  • Researchers and scientists working with porous and hierarchical materials
  • Users of gas adsorption and physisorption techniques
  • Researchers studying carbons, catalysts, adsorbents, zeolites, MOFs, and mesoporous materials
  • Scientists interested in pore size, pore structure, and pore-network characterization
  • Current or prospective 3Flex users seeking advanced characterization capabilities
What will you learn?
  • Understand the fundamentals of physisorption and adsorption–desorption hysteresis
  • Understand the principles and purpose of Differential Hysteresis Scanning (DHS)
  • Learn how DHS on the 3Flex can provide deeper insight into hierarchical pore networks
  • See how complementary SAXS characterization can support the interpretation of complex porous structures
