Agilent Technologies: PFAS Mini webinar Series

PFAS testing laboratories are being asked to do more than ever before. As regulatory requirements evolve and target analyte lists expand, analysts across environmental, food, and materials testing laboratories must deliver reliable trace-level PFAS measurements in increasingly complex applications. In this seven-part mini webinar series, we explore a range of solutions for trace-level PFAS determination, including Feed Injection and large-volume injection techniques, automated sample preparation, direct injection workflows, SPE strategies, thermal desorption, and complementary LC/MS/MS and GC/MS approaches. Each webinar addresses a different aspect of PFAS analysis, providing practical insights into workflow design, method performance, and laboratory productivity.

Session 4: PFAS Analysis in Soils, Sediments, and Sludges: An EU Regulatory Approach Equivalent to EPA 1633

Environmental laboratories need robust approaches for extracting PFAS from challenging solid matrices while meeting increasingly demanding regulatory requirements. This webinar explores different approaches to PFAS sample preparation for soil, sediment, and sludge, comparing manual extraction with automated SPE and automated solvent extraction using µSPE.

In this mini webinar, discover how to:

  • Approach PFAS extraction in challenging solid environmental matrices
  • Compare manual and automated sample preparation workflows
  • Evaluate manual extraction, automated SPE, and µSPE strategies

Presenter: Day Powell (Field Application Specialist, Agilent Technologies)

Day has worked for Agilent as an Environmental Application Specialist for over a year, before this he worked for United Utilities (UU) as a Technical Specialist responsible for developing new methodologies for both LC/MS and GC/MS applications. Day has worked with PFAS for several years and helped UU to UKAS accredit a novel method for 47 PFAS in drinking water using direct injection to address the latest DWI regulations.
