Extracellular vesicle (EV) profiling is critical to the understanding and diagnosis of many diseases. While essential, it is limited by traditional methods that require EV isolation, provide only one piece of the characterization puzzle, or process samples one at a time. Leprechaun is the ultimate tool for EV characterization that provides EV size, titer, and surface marker or cargo profiling from a single assay with maximum 25 µL of sample. It can work with samples direct from crude, such as biofluid or cell culture media.

Presenter: Dr. Brenna Hefley (Postdoctoral Research Associate, North Texas Eye Research Institute (NTERI))

Dr. Brenna Hefley is a Post-Doctoral Research Associate at the North Texas Eye Research Institute (NTERI). Prior to this role, she was a Ph.D. student researching the diagnostic potential of extracellular vesicles in keratoconus. She received her Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences from the University of North Texas Health Science Center in Fort Worth and is continuing to research extracellular vesicles in multiple corneal diseases.

Presenter: Dr. Brian Haldeman (Leprechaun Product Manager, Unchained Labs)

Dr. Brian Haldeman is Product Manager for Leprechaun and Unagi at Unchained Labs. Prior to this role, he was a Field Application Scientist supporting biophysical characterization of proteins and viral vectors. He received his Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the University of Nevada, Reno where he studied the mechanics of muscle contraction. His research utilized single-molecule microscopy, pre-steady-state kinetics, protein affinity and binding characterization, and protein isolation techniques.
