Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) are environmentally persistent and potentially toxic synthetic compounds. Volatile and neutral PFAS—used in products like firefighting foams and non-stick coatings—act as precursors to persistent acids such as PFOS and PFOA, making their accurate monitoring essential.

This webinar will highlight how Solid-Phase Microextraction (SPME), combined with comprehensive two-dimensional gas chromatography (GC×GC) and time-of-flight mass spectrometry using the LECO Pegasus BTX, enables effective detection of volatile PFAS in air and water. This approach allows for highly sensitive analysis at sub-part-per-billion levels, supporting improved environmental monitoring.
